I love that my kids like to help with laundry....but sometimes they are not the best sorters.  Most of the time it hasn't mattered, but when I had the chance to review this NEW Purex No Sort for Colors detergent, I was really excited!  It is the latest laundry innovation from the Purex® brand designed to simplify your laundry routine. We gave it a try...with denim, and colors.  Usually I would have thrown one of those color catcher sheets in with it......We crossed our fingers and hoped our colors wouldn't be blue.  When it came out, I was very pleasantly surprised....No bleeding!  

I feel like this is a great invention for all the moms that are trying to teach their kids how to do laundry....and the kids might miss that ONE DARK SOCK......(or worse....a RED one!).  AMAZING!!!  Less sorting!!!

Limited Edition excitement & a giveaway

Have you ever noticed that lately everything is "limited edition"?  I have such a LOVE/HATE relationship with all things "limited edition."  Take the latest Oreo cookies for example:  Rice Krispy treat flavor Oreos  and Cookie Dough Oreos.....(They are AH-MAZ-ING...btw).  I get so excited that they are having a new flavor....I buy it...try it.....love it!.....Then I can't ever find it again.  Hence my LOVE/HATE relationship.  Then I get the "I.GOTTA.STOCKPILE.IT.SO.I.CAN.HAVE.IT.AGAIN" mentality.  I am sure that is what marketing teams are going for.  I wish that when companies make great new products, that they keep them around for a while.

Litter box trained DOG!

Yep..she's PINK!  We dyed her for Halloween!

We have a cat....and a DOG that use litter boxes.  YES!  You read that right!  Our DOG uses a litter box too.  We have a little "grate" that goes over the litter box (its just a cookie cooling rack with a couple bolts to make it tall).

We tried this new litter and we really liked it.  It has a lot finer texture than regular litter (more like sand) and it doesn't have a strong fragrance.  It was great when cleaning out the box because it sifts so much better!

Such a patient dog!  She was being "wheeled" around in the hamper with R's other animals!

Dial it up: Giveaway & Review

Some days I feel like life gets dialed up a notch....Like a "let's see how much you can REALLY handle."  Have you had one of those days?  I sometimes feel like I've been running so hard & fast that there is hardly time to breath.  Unfortunately, most of it is my own doing.  I love all the things that I do...but sometimes it just gets to be a bit....much.  Thankfully, I got a surprise package from Dial with a sample of the Dial Vitamin Boost Body Wash to review.  (However, all the opinions expressed are my own). 

 I don't think I had ever tried Dial before, but when I opened the bottle to smell it, I was pleasantly surprised.  It smells fresh and fruity.  What a breath of fresh SPRING!

That wasn't where the surprises ended, though.  It is a wonderful body wash that is infused with lotion and vitamin B.  So it helps you to have healthy, soft skin. 

I really liked this and I think it helped me to "Dial" it back a bit....even if it was just for the lovely time in the shower with this amazing fragrance!

My newest favorite laundry additive is the Purex Crystals.  The flavors (Smells) are great!  We really like the tropical flavors and the lavender and the baby smell....I guess the baby one is my way of hanging onto my "babies".....but thats another story....

The latest fragrance that we have tried is the Mountain breeze.  It smells very clean and crisp without being over powering.

What I love about the crystals is that it keeps my clothes and towels smelling dryer fresh for over a week!....maybe you noticed I said towels ......AND fabric softener.....YES!  This is totally safe for towels absorbancy!  It doesn't reduce it at all!  It's also environmentally friendly.

Book of Mormon stories...REVISITED...via the APP now!

DO you  remember when I shared my post about the Illustrated stories from the Book of Mormon?  They have improved upon them!  It used to be that you would download the books and they would go to iBooks.  NOW....they have their OWN APP!  This takes up a LOT less space on your iPad/ iPhone/ iTouch.....you get the idea!  Plus, all the books are together so you don't have to hunt through your iBooks!  (Next step...reinvent the wheel!)

This app has been such a blessing to my family!  My 4 year old daughter LOVES nothing more than iPad/ iTouch time!  She asks to "Read her scriptures"...which entails opening up this app and having the stories read to her.  Its so amazing that little kids can navigate and use electronics!  (Most of the time even better than adults!)  *But that is beside the point!*  So my daughter will spend a good hour just going through the scripture stories.  She is getting to know all the people and the stories really well!  I am glad that I have this resource to introduce her to the great stories from our scriptures!

A scrub is a ...Oh wait!  I guess I'm talking about the dreaded task of cleaning the toilet.  (I am reminiscing through some old songs for post titles as of late.....)  Toilet duty is the one that NOBODY wants.  I really don't mind it too much...since we are a house of all girls (but daddy, of course).

I tried the Alpine Fresh one (Pictured ^ ).  I sure wanted to love it, but the smell was AWFUL!  I can't speak for the Saphire Water fragrance (at the very top), but who ever thought the Alpine one smelled good was missing a sense of smell.  Pee U!  The concept was great, though.  We endured the "Alpine" smell for about 2 weeks before chucking it out (because we didn't like the smell....not because it was gone)....and the toilet was cleaner than usual.  It kept the monster toilet ring away and is said to last for 4 weeks (we obviously didn't make it that long).  I LOVE the concept, and product, but they need to get some new employees that smell in there.....LOL...not smelly employees, he he he.  ;-)  I would love to see this come in more fragrances.  I intend to try the Jasmine waters one.....and I *HOPE* that it smells better.....(Of course...most anything would smell better than the Alpine one).

So the product comes in a plastic cage that keeps it in place and when you flush, the water activates the cleaner.

The ants go marching

The ants go marching....what a great Dave Mathews Band song!  But music is not the subject of today's post....  although some *ahem* older people may think that some kinds of music are pesty, annoying, bothersome, etc....I'm talking ANTS.....the real ones...the ones that 'SHOULD' stay outside, but sometimes meander their way indoors.

We were out pulling weeds the other day and found a big ant hill.  Lucky for us, I had a Combat ant killing strips package waiting to be used.  These are discrete enough to be used indoors, but since our current problem was outside, I quickly grabbed them and set them out next to the hill.  The nice thing about the strips is that the ants take the bait back to the nest and it kills the whole colony.  It worked fast.  They were mostly gone the next day.






The little strips have an adhesive backing that makes it easy to hide out of sight and reach of kids or pets....or both.....  Sometime they are ONE and the SAME!  ;-)

Turn the Dial up, KIDS!

Dial has a new KIDS line!  Lets turn the dial up!  It is a kids body and hair wash.  With my girls all being in swimming lessons right now, they are taking A LOT of showers.  As such, they use A LOT of soaps, shampoos, etc.  We had the fun chance to try out the newest line of Dial for kids washes. 

Rachel got her own kind.  It is tear free and meant for kids ages 2-5.  It is "Peachy Clean" flavor and...let me just tell you that I love it!  It smells so yummy!  This is a great transitional soap....not the baby wash, but not full strength adult soap either.

 Aubrey and Katelyn used the other one.  We tried the "Watery Melon" flavor.  They really liked the smell and the way it lathers.  It truly smells like a watermelon....for better or worse, LOL.  This one is for ages 6+

I like that it was an all in one...that reduces the quantity of bottles in the shower.

Soft Scrub Advanced surface

Soft Scrub has a new product......DRUMROLL please.....It's called Advanced Surface. It's a great all purpose cleaner. 

It's a cleaner and polisher all in one!  It is a gel texture that works to clean granite and marble countertops, glass cooktops and stainless steel.  Yippie!  A product that does all that means less clutter in my cupboard!  I gave it a try on all 3 and it did a great job polishing my SS, granite countertops and my glass cooktop stove.  You know, if you have one of the glass cooktops that when something boils over, it makes a mess.  It burns on the stove and makes a yucky ring that is super hard to scrub off.  This make light work of a not fun job.  I am totally sold!  One bottle instead of 3 different products...and it does it well.

Dial has just come out with a new coconut water body wash.  I don't think it smells ANYTHING like the water that comes out of a coconut, lol.  I did think the smell was more masculine than I personally like, but it smelled good on my hubby.  The reason it's called coconut water......is that it CONTAINS coconut water.  This makes your skin healthy and hydrated. 

Coconut water is found in young, green coconuts and said to be rich in antioxidants and electrolytes that replenish hydration.  So will this *hopefully* translate into hydrated skin!  ;-)
